The President 2003-04 Dr.
Zulkifi Ismail, MBBS (Malaya), M. Med. Paediatrics (UKM)
is a Professor of Paediatrics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
He served as the Head of Department of Paediatrics, Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia from May 1999 to December 2000.
In January 2001, he was
appointed to his current position of Director of the National
University Hospital of Malaysia (Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia). He is an accomplished Paediatric Cardiologist and Consultant
Paediatrician. He has had considerable experience at home and abroad.
He practised at St. George's Hospital, London, and has been a Visiting
Lecturer to the Saitama Heart Centre, Japan. Dr. Zulkifli has many interests related to his training as a Paediatrician.
He has been a Committee Member of the Malaysian Paediatric Association
for many years and is the current President. Being an Instructor in
Paediatric Advanced Life Support, he regularly teaches resuscitation
to doctors and nurses. He is involved actively in the Malaysian Association
of Thalassaemia, and in childhood injury efforts with the Ministry
of Health. He has also been in SIRIM (Standards and Industrial Research
Institute of Malaysia) technical committees related to bicycle helmets
and baby products. Dr. Zulkifli has a passion for teaching
medical students and paramedical staff. He has four joint publications
with Dr. Iean Hamzah. He is currently the President of The Malaysian
Paediatric Association (2000-2001), the Assistant Editor of the Malaysian
Journal of Child Health and the Secretary of the Chapter
of Paediatrics, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. Dr Zulkifli has appeared
on numerous television and radio interviews and has written numerous
articles in the daily newspapers. Dr Zulkifli is a contributor to
the Mother & Baby and Ma & Pa parenting magazines. |
